Introducing: VHX Stats

We’re big believers in transparency and knowledge-sharing, and it’s time to put our money revenue stats where our mouth is. Today we’re launching VHX Stats, which will update daily, so you can watch the market grow as more people sell films and video content directly to fans.
The numbers that we’re putting out into the world so far are:
Number of titles for sale
VHX total gross revenue
Number of total transactions
Number of customers who’ve bought more than one title from VHX (something we want to improve)
Sales by geographic region
…with more to come. Creators want to have a conversation about the economics of selling their work, and this is our small contribution. Take a look, ask questions, and help us make it better.

Just launched the VHX Stats page! Check out those #s, but focus on the SVG, gradient & globe animations @stevenbone and I got made http://vhx.tv/stats

My wife and I are celebrating our 5th (!) wedding anniversary today. It wasn’t only the best experience of my life, but also one of the most cohesive design projects I’ve ever done. It’s testament to the great combination Jessamine and I make and what we can do when truly inspired. Here’s a few things that stand out:

  • Hand-printed RSVPs with my Japanese Gocco Printer
  • Hand-drawn type - a lot of it with 3 to 4 variations on letters and ligatures
  • Custom fold-out poster invitation with inserts for directions and activities during off-hours
  • Gorgeous calligraphy by Betsy Dunlap
  • Months of Ebay searching for vintage Stamps
  • Applying said stamps and calculating all the wacky denominations
  • Hand-fan style reception notes
  • Custom rubber stamps from the bonkers Casey Rubber Stamps in the East Village
  • Oh, and I made a Flash site!
